The Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Shivaji Nagar, Hyderabad, is a well-known spiritual center dedicated to Shirdi Sai Baba. The temple was established by Late Sri G.V.R. Naidu, a devoted follower of Sai Baba, who started his spiritual journey in 1938. His dedication led to the formation of Sri Saibaba Seva Samajam in 1962, which continues to spread Sai Baba’s teachings of faith, love, and service.
Late Sri G.V.R. Naidu began his worship with a Saibaba Pooja Mandiram in his rented home in 1938. The temple was officially recognized in 1982 by a Government Order. Over time, it grew into a significant place of worship, attracting devotees from various places.
Sri B.V. Narasimha Swamiji, a prominent follower of Sai Baba, once predicted that Naidu’s devotion would spread Sai faith far and wide, much like the lasting fragrance of sandalwood. Today, the Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Shivaji Nagar stands as a testament to his commitment.
The temple has been blessed by saints like Sri Narasimha Swamiji, Godavari Mata of Sakori, Kavi Yogi Suddhananda Bharati, and Swami Keshavaiah Ji of Chennai. A key milestone was the installation of a 6’9” marble idol of Sai Baba, which was consecrated in Shirdi Samadhi Mandir and later installed in Hyderabad on April 25, 1994, by Dr. Vidyaranya Teertha Swamiji of Dwarakapeetam, Bangalore.
The temple is currently managed by Sri Sripathi Pandu Ranga Rao (President), Sri Nanduri Dwaraknath (General Secretary), and Sri Sunil Siddam Setty (Organizing Secretary), who continue to oversee its activities and development.
The temple follows a structured schedule of prayers and rituals:
Abhishekam – 5:45 AM
Sai Sahasranamam – 7:15 AM
Mahapooja – 8:00 AM
Palanquin Procession – Every Thursday at 7:00 PM

The temple celebrates several important festivals with great devotion:

During these festivals, the temple organizes spiritual discourses, special Bhajans, group recitations of Sai Satcharitra, Sai Vratams, and community feasts.
A special ritual, Sahasra Kalasha Rudra Ksheera Abhishekam, is performed with 508 liters of milk during the four major festivals: Sri Ramanavami, Vijayadashami, Guru Poornima, and Datta Jayanti.
The temple not only serves as a place of worship but also engages in various social welfare activities, following Sai Baba’s message of “Sabka Malik Ek” (One God for All). Some of these initiatives include:
